The Residence Memory Care Center

Alzheimer’s disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States and affects one in nine people age 65 or older. For that reason, Covenant Care is proud to introduce an exciting new innovation in memory care, The Residence.

This intimate, 22-bed apartment community aims to create a family-friendly environment that encourages family involvement and fun with a state-of-the-art movie theater, beautiful gardening areas, screened-in secure porches and private dining rooms available for family dinners.

The Residence, located at 10075 Hillview Drive in Pensacola, is locally owned and operated by Covenant Care, a trusted non-profit serving the community for 35 years.

Every aspect of care – intellectual engagement, social involvement, preferred menus and sleep routines – is focused completely around the residents and their preferences. Stimulating activities and personalized experiences enhance quality of life for residents. This specialized approach is the basis of Covenant’s development of results driven dementia care programs.

Utilizing the latest technology, Covenant Care engages family members to develop a predictive behavior model for each client living at The Residence. This model allows caregiver staff to better recognize changes in behavior and prevent undesirable outcomes before they can occur.

Smart technology also allows families to receive frequent updates regarding their loved one’s changing health and daily care needs.

A ratio of one caregiver for every four residents means that attentive, compassionate care is always close at hand.

Executive chef Michael Gordy prepares nourishing gourmet meals each day for the residents, with fresh from the garden vegetables and herbs.

“It’s exciting to come out of the kitchen and be able to cut what you need from the garden. As an artist, it’s great to be so hands-on with what you are creating,” says Chef Michael.

“The Residence’s goal is to become a home for our residents; a loving and secure place, where families are encouraged to take an active role in their loved one’s dayto day living,” says Barbara Scheurer, executive director. “The Residence is unique in its all-inclusive fee structure, which provides all the services and amenities needed by our residents to meet their progressing care needs.”
